Publications and Meetings

The Southeastern Palm Society publishes Southeastern Palms (formerly Rhapidophyllum). , a quarterly journal describing how to successfully grow hardy palms and other subtropical plants in USDA Zones 6 through 8 in the southeastern United States. Southeastern Palms offers a variety of articles selected to please beginners, palm nuts, landscapers, nursery management and horticultural educators alike. The journal is included with membership.

The society's quarterly meetings are held at outstanding public and private gardens all over the Southeast. Meetings are open to both members and non-members.

The Southeastern Palm Society also publishes the specialty books Hardy Palms for the Southeast and Hardy Citrus for the Southeast, and maintains a permanent palm display garden at the Bamboo Farm and Coastal Gardens in Savannah, Georgia.

Membership/Subscriptions

Southeastern Palm Society membership dues are $20 for one calendar year ($25 outside the US, Canada and Mexico, payable in US funds).

News Update

The Southeastern Palm Society (SEPS) Fall meeting was held at the gardens of the Anniston Museum of Natural History and the Berman Museum, and the gardens of Hayes Jackson, Anniston, Alabama, and Connie Mack and Linda Dobbs, Oxford, Alabama.

In addition, SPEPS participated in the Southeastern Citrus Exposition on Saturday, November 17, 2007, in Aiken, South Carolina.
